October 2019
After advocating for innovative measures to educate the most at-risk learners in Nashville, as a candidate for public office, DCA’s founder, Reverend Rueben Dockery moved toward formally materializing his vision for a private Christian school in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee. The journey began in October of 2019.

February 2020
On February 17, 2020, Dockery Christian Academy was formally incorporated as a non-profit organization with the Tennessee Secretary of State’s office. Additionally, a business banking account was opened with First Horizon Bank. Subsequently, filing for IRS Tax Exempt status ensured.

November 2019
After developing the school milieu and aligning it with an accrediting agency, Reverend Dockery, formally registered Dockery Christian Academy as a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). This membership qualifies DCA as a Tennessee Department of Education recognized, Category IV Religious Home School, and once the doors open, as a Category II Private School.

June 2020
By early June 2020, Dockery Christian Academy received formal notice of Internal Revenue Service, 501 C 3 tax exemption status for the school.
March 2025
The official fundraising campaign for Dockery Christian Academy was launched via a web platform. Click the image to make a gift!
January 2020
On January 25, 2020, Reverend Dockery convened a think tank session with ten stakeholders in Nashville, Tennessee. Current board of trustees for Dockery Christian Academy are listed below:

August 2025
Despite challenges with the 2020 plague of Coronavirus and a long waiting period, Dockery Christian Academy looks to will open on in the Fall of 2025 in Nashville, Tennessee.

DCA was granted possession of this property to use for the private school. We are raising funds to fully renovate the property to be ready by late summer 2025.
